Joyce's obituary
It is with profound sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce "Joycee" Findlen, cherished mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, on July 10, 2023, 78, just one day shy of her 79th birthday. Joycee, as she was fondly called by many, was born on July 11, 1944, illuminating the world with her vibrant spirit and unyielding zest for life.
Her adventurous soul is carried on through her beloved children Gene Albee, June Winters, George Klobucher Jr., Dottie Dallaire and her husband Andy Dallaire, Janice Nevius and her husband Scott Nevius, Greg Klobucher and his wife Jessica Klobucher, Mellissa Klobucher, and all of whom she was immensely proud. Her siblings Jan Keith, Don Keith, Cheryl Kelly, Sarah Simes Witts and her 20 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her loving husband, Peter Bradley Findlen, her daughter Lisa Salgadinho, her sister Ellen Keith, Carla Ringer, brother Paul Keith and her parents Lloyd Keith and Louise (Loree) Kraus. Her resilient spirit will be missed by her numerous family and friends who had the privilege to know her and make long-lasting memories.
Known to be a great connoisseur of life, Joyce embraced each day with an open heart and an open mind. She took comfort and joy in the simpler pleasures of life; from her love of seafood and the simple delights of salt-vinegar chips, and wild blueberries to her passion for the soothing sounds of Celine Dione's music. An ardent reader, she found solace in the pages of her favorite romance novels, and in the suspense and mystery of her favored TV show, Murder She Wrote, along with anything airing on Hallmark.
Joycee's free spirit was also evident in her love for arts, primarily seascape paintings, reflecting her love for the ocean. A lover of purple, she enjoyed the tranquility of swimming, visiting Cape Cod and Florida being her favored destinations. When not engrossed in her favorite books or TV shows, Joyce was known to frequent the casino, beach, and yard sales, sharing wonderful moments of joy and laughter with family and friends.
In her 78 years, Joyce prided herself on being a woman of values, her best lessons being to keep an open mind. One of her most significant accomplishments was opening her heart and home to fostering 64 children, demonstrating her unconditional love for every child she had the pleasure of nurturing. She also had a great love for the elderly and spent most of her career taking care of them. We will remember Joyce as a vibrant woman who loved life, lived it to the fullest, and whose influence will remain in our hearts forever.
As we say our final goodbye to Joyce, her vibrant memories will continue to echo in our hearts and minds, reminding us of her undying spirit and zest for life. Her radiant charm, unconditional love, and tireless resilience will forever resonate with those who were privileged enough to know her.
“Seeing death as the end of life is like seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean."
