I met Joyce for the first time when Claudia and I were driving across country to move her to Bend, Oregon. When we arrived at Joyce and Ollie's house, I was sick. After Joyce went into 'mom' mode and found a place I could meet with a doctor and get some medicine, I returned to the house to sleep and recover in the guest room. In typical Joyce fashion, I will never forget her coming into my room while I was recovering/sleeping - to vacuum the floor... every single day.
