In Loving Memory of Joyce Exline 1939-2024

Joyce Marie Exline 85 of Hoffman Estates, Illinois passed away in Naperville Illinois on January 16, 2024 after suffering a stroke. Joyce was born on January 11, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late John and Opal Anderson. Joyce grew up in Palatine, Illinois where she grew up with her two sisters Donna Anderson (deceased) and Kate Brueckmann. Joyce lived a long life filled with love, beauty and a deep connection to those she held dear.

Joyce was mother to three sons. Anthony Exline and Kevin Exline (deceased) and Sean Schielie. In addition to her youngest son Sean Schielie, Joyce is survived in death by her beloved daughter in law and friend Suzanne Exline (Kevin Exline) and their son Dale Exline, Joyce’s only grandson. Joyce also treasured her three granddaughters who affectionately called her “granny”, Beth Sheedy (Jacob Sheedy) Anna Rae Schielie, and Cara Schielie. Joyce lovingly embraced her two great granddaughters Keida and Emry (Beth and Jacob Sheedy) who affectionately referred to her as “Gigi” and brought much joy and laughter to Joyce’s life.

Additionally, Joyce’s resilience and warmth extended to her surviving family members, including her daughter in law, Jodi Schielie (Sean Schielie), her sister Kate Brueckmann, nephew Jeff Brueckmann, niece Andrea Jesson, great-nieces and nephews, Elijah Jesson and Brittany Jesson. Additionally, she leaves behind two great-great-nieces, Isla and Aspen Jesson.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Joyce's dear friend Marie Allo, who provided care and companionship during her later years. Marie's unwavering support was a source of comfort and joy, and her presence throughout the years added immeasurable warmth to Joyce's life.

Joyce's journey was marked not only by her dedication to family but also by a remarkable career. A hairstylist for an impressive 65 years, she shared her talent and warmth with countless clients. Her love for flowers and antiques adorned every corner of her home, reflecting her appreciation for the beauty in life.

A memorial service to celebrate Joyce's life will be held on January 27 at Calvary Chapel 975 E Nerge Rd. Suite N-140, Roselle, Il. Friends and family are invited to gather and celebrate her life at 1:30 with a brief service to follow at 3. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Wounded Warrior in Joyce's honor.

May she rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
