Joyce's obituary
In Memory of Joyce Berube
October 25, 1954 – December 18, 2022
Joyce Linda Berube passed peacefully into the kingdom of heaven at approximately 10:00 am on Sunday, December 18, 2022.
Joyce was born on October 25, 1954, in St. Paul, Alberta to her parents Rollie and Veronique Parenteau. Joyce was the eldest of 7 and a role model to her siblings. She loved her parents and her entire family dearly.
In 1978, she met her future husband of 43 years, Grant. The following words were taken from her wedding journal:
“We met June 24, 1978 at the Yellowhead Cabaret at around 11:00 pm. We have been dating ever since. We got engaged on June 25, 1979 at 3:00 am. Grant had went out with the boys, came home, woke me up and gave me my engagement ring. He had previously told me the ring would not be ready for a couple weeks.”
Together Joyce and Grant would go on to raise their 3 children, Tammy, Shawn, and Jonathan. She would go on to become an aunt, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother.
Joyce was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of others before her own. She was a woman with a heart of gold who always went out of her way to make people feel welcome and cared for, especially those who were downtrodden or outcasts.
A loyal servant to God, Joyce spent many of her hours dedicating her life to studying the bible and the word of god. Now that Joyce has passed into the arms of her Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Joyce’s physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.
She joins those who pre-deceased her; her mother Veronica Parenteau, her father Rollie Parenteau, her great-granddaughter Sara Beaulieu, and many friends and extended family members.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Grant; her 3 children Tammy, Shawn, and Jonathan; her grandchildren Haley, Samantha and Sharrah; her great-grandchildren Charlie and Thomas, her siblings Cindy, Lucy, Pat, Mike, Jules and Ron, and her many nieces, nephews and friends who all hold such love in their heart for Joyce.
A source of inspiration to so many, Joyce will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She was a woman with a heart of gold, a source of inspiration to so many, and a rare and beautiful soul that blessed this world.
May her body rest in peace, and her soul celebrate in heaven.
