I first met Joy Mari when she joined us at NCC. As time went on, I came to realize that we were from the same state, from neighboring villages, and even shared a few family friends. We also fellowshipped in the same church. From the very beginning, Joy struck me as loving and reserved, yet she carried herself with a bold sense of style that was uniquely hers. I deeply admired her tenacity for life. Though our work in the same department did not afford us daily interactions, we always cherished the opportunities we had to connect. My impression of Joy never wavered — she remained to me the same genuine, admirable person from the very first day we met until her passing.

Joy,
You bore pains with smiles, you were a lioness who fought all battles that came her way and against all odds you brought forth children to live after you. May your soul rest in the bossom of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen
