Joy embodied the meaning of her name. I met lovely Joy 4 years ago and had the privilege to be her nurse on many occasions. I will never forget her laugh as we talked about the deep and often hard things of life. She still found humor and grace during the struggles. She talked about her amazing husband and beautiful daughters often. You were her heart and soul. I praise God that we will meet again someday. You were loved my sweet friend.❤️

Our family first met yours when our girls, Izzy and Charlotte, developed a sweet friendship as elementary school classmates at Oakwood. Joy's smile, positivity, love for her girls, and encouragement of all things creative touched our hearts. We have followed her journey and kept you all in our prayers. We are sending you love, and hope that you find moments of peace and even joy as you navigate forward. Charlotte, Izzy and I are sending you a special hug and thoughts during your senior year.

Dear Chad, Charlotte and Dana! I am so so sorry for your loss. I was scrolling through Instagram and saw Chad's Reel on Joy's account and my heart dropped. Joy and I had a very beautiful friendship back in the days when we still lived in Gilroy, we shared our love for healthy food, Crossfit (she was way better at it), and Las Madres. I saw her last in Spring of 2016 before we moved back to Germany, this was the last time. I am grateful though, that we always crossed paths on IG, so I was able to follow her updates. I have no words for the pain you must feel right now and wish you all the best. Sending much love, Bettina and Reiner Kraft
