Joslyn's obituary

HALIFAX - Joslyn Ree Thomas-Ertel RN, of Halifax, Pennsylvania died on February 6, 2024, at the age of 58, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on July 26, 1965 in New York City, New York. She is the daughter of Seth Gerchberg and Susan Citron.

Joslyn married John Ertel on June 9, 2023, but has loved him for over 12 years. She most recently worked as a Community Health Nurse for Perry County and healthcare is her passion.

Some of the things Joslyn enjoyed included snorkeling in the Dominican Republic, biking on the rail trails of Pennsylvania, and traveling anywhere with her loved ones.

She is survived by her spouse John Ertel, father and step-mother Seth and Jeanne Gerchberg, mother Susan Citron, her 3 children (Robert, Jade, and Jewel), her 3 grandchildren (Isabella, Lilliana, and Sebastian), her boys (King and Marvin), and 6 siblings.

There will be a memorial service held at the Jewish Community Center, 3301 North Front St., Harrisburg, PA 17110 on Sunday, February 11, 2024 starting at 11:00 AM.

The family requests that memorial donations may be made to OCRA - Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.
