Josie as part of my life. We went to school together at Verdugo. Sweet woman.
Sad to hear Josie has passed...I so remember her when she worked at Bob Ross' We are going back 50 years ago. She gave me some rides home in her (then new) vw to where I was living(I didnt have a car) I was in touch with the whole Ross team, as I worked for him also.....RIP Josie

I didn’t know josie passed but had a feeling since she didn’t call and sing a classic hilarious “happy birthday “ to me on July 20.  I live in seattle, we didn’t talk as much the last several years but I always got a vm song on bday. In L. A. she was a best friend. Met her at bob ross music when I was 18 and filling in lyrics under her beautiful notes. She took me to see Harvey among other shows, we went for breakfast a lot and movies. Along with jon marquart we were the 3 musketeers.

I met many of her relatives and her bro. She kept me informed of their wonderful accomplishments  my deceased parents and friends adored her

   Josie:

You laughed at and with me          with all your heart.   I love you and always will my dear dear caring loving friend

Mitch, and one last time our greeting and always our goodbye…BOMP

Hey Josie...Lets go to a show..  I have to go alone now but, I'll never forget the fun we had, Josie was always happy and laughing. Even when she worked for my dad as a music copiest.  She always had something funny to say. She was like my sister.  I miss her.
Did anyone else get a fire extinguisher for a wedding present like Lucia and I did from Josie in 1985. What a wonderful gift! It communicated her best wishes for our future happiness as any gift could. It has long lost it's charge but we have it still and are always have one ready to go. Always think of her when we see it or any other fire extinguishers.

Though there are many memories about Josie in summer theatre, I remember the two of us wearing mu-mu like costumes of a bright loud print standing stage right in a musical--South Pacific? a G & S? Can't remember for sure, but for some reason we had a terrible time not giggling. So of course we made plenty of grimacing faces to hide our giggles. Maybe she was Bloody Mary and I was her side-kick. I'm not sure. Anyway I remember Josie with joy and I can't believe she's gone.
Laughter was a great part of being with Josie. When she came up to our mountain place she would never stay over because of her doggies. She added to everyone's enjoyment of a party--not by taking center stage so much as from laughing with everyone. A loving and generous soul.

So sorry to hear the news. The last time I saw Josie was when she and Bill Thomas came to dinner with my wife, Yumiko and I at Signal Hill.

Gosh. Waaaay too many stories to choose from. My very first memory was of being packed into Josie's old Metropolitan, whizzing down the freeway to a Summer Theatre cast party ("Inherit the Wind", 1964). I was fresh out of high school and thought this must be life in the fast lane, out late at night, drinking with theatre folks. The next summer Josie and I got paired up as Bystander 6 and 7 in the opening rainy scene of Omar's "Pygmalian"...and we had such fun creating our own characters and relationship and dialogue, dropping all our "h's" of course. My favorite all-time Josie moment on stage was her spectacular flying pratfall exit in "Italian Straw Hat". I think I was in charge of popcorn for that show but always snuck into the audience to catch that single, hilarious moment. As so many others know, Josie just wormed her way into my hear and we became fast friends for the next 50+ years. Photo treks to Bodega Bay and Joshua Tree, annual visits to the tennis tournament at Indian Wells, horseback riding at Hanson Dam, marathon matches of Trivial Pursuit (she was a pro, dagnabbit) and Scrabble and endless crossword puzzles. My heart is heavy with missing her...but filled with gratitude that her generous and loving spirit was a part of my life.
