I knew Jo for almost 20 years 💔 I met him on Halo 3, and he truly became my little big brother. He was one of the few people I could go to about anything I was struggling with, without fear of judgment or humiliation. He protected me from online bullies growing up and was always just a phone call away as an adult. I feel so fortunate to have been able to speak with him recently and to have had the chance to tell him he’s one of the best damn friends I’ve ever had.

I’ll love and miss you forever, Jo. You were there for me at times that nearly killed me, when no one else was. You were also there to celebrate the crazy highs just as much as you were to kill the lows. I appreciate everything you ever did for me. Rest easy up there — you earned every second of your peace.

My sincerest love and condolences to Jo’s entire family and everyone who knew him. He was one of the good ones, and he left us far, far too soon.
