Joshua's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Joshua "Josh" Wegner, who entered into rest on February 21, 2024. Born July 13, 1988, Joshua, and twin sister Jessica, took the world by storm. Joshua was known for his socially dynamic, witty, comedic, loving, sarcastic personality that captivated each person he met.
Joshua leaves to mourn his passing his devoted parents, Jen and Dan Wegner; his adored sisters, Jessica Sullivan and Rachelle Wegner; his respected brother-in-law, Christopher Sullivan; his cherished nephews, Jonathan and William Sullivan, along with grandmother, Nancy Wegner, aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends, including best friend Ronny Schmidt. Joshua was predeceased by his grandparents Vernon Koch, June Koch, and Robert Wegner.
Joshua graduated high school in 2007 from Two Rivers High School; he went on to further his education and began college the same year at Lakeshore Technical College. In December, he relocated to Beaver Dam and switched to Moraine Park Technical College majoring in computer programming. In 2010, a surgery significantly changed Joshua's life, but he steadfastly remained a beacon of joy and positivity.
Among his favorite things included Chicken Cordon Bleu and Spaghetti, with a fondness for Mountain Dew and chocolate milk. A fan of Five Finger Death Punch, his musical preference mirrored his passion and energy. Joshua enjoyed watching That 70s Show, Big Bang Theory, Sports Events, and The Price is Right. He was a fan of horror flicks and comedies, and avidly supported the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Milwaukee Brewers.
In 2020, Joshua's family expanded with the addition of twin nephews - Jonathan & William. This period was marked by the abundance of love and laughter that they brought into Joshua's life, infusing every gathering with warmth and cheerfulness.
Joshua's family is arranging a Celebration of Life ceremony to honor his memories and the joy he brought to those around him. The celebration will be held on March 23, 2024, from 1-3:00 PM at W9548 Zimmerman Drive, Beaver Dam. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scholarship in Joshua's name to Little People (LPA) at https://everloved.com/life-of… Additionally, everyone is welcome and encouraged to share their stories of Josh at https://padlet.com/jenwegner1…
Joshua's greatest accomplishment was the positive light he brought to the world, regardless of his circumstances. His smile lit up a room. His best lessons taught were of love, inclusivity, and unyielding positivity. To all who had the pleasure of knowing Joshua, his energy was contagious, and his legacy of connectedness, wholehearted fun, laughter, and love for all, will live on. He is now reunited with his beloved therapy cat, Kaylee, passing on just three days ahead of him. He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
