What a shock to hear about Josh. It’s been a long time, but there are plenty of memories from our incredible group of friends from high school. Prayers to the family.

Sincere condolences to your family. I was enamored and inspired by Josh, so very long ago. His charisma, his wit, and his musical and artistic talent. He was a bright star- gone far too soon.  Peace to you all.
My heart is with all of Josh’s family. We spent so much time together in our adolescence and teen years, and he was a friend for many years. How painful. Wishing you as much peace as possible and many happy memories of his life.

My condolences to all of Josh's family and friends. This is really shocking, awful news.

Dear Patrick, Laurencia, Rachel and family,

After learning this news I simply wanted to run to you, embrace you with the love I've had for you over the years. I've known the immense love you have for Josh, the time you spent covering he and Rachel in prayer, on your knees, crying out. There is never a regret in a love so strong and enduring. Josh was blessed by you as parents. He ran his race with you beside him but made it to the finish line first. He will always be with you, as you receive peace and comfort now and in the coming days.Jesus proved there is life after death and I pray for a life of refreshing, renewed friendships and that you absord all the love of many. I love you immensely.

To our dearest friends, Patrick, Laurencia and Rachel,

Jake and I love you so very much and  we are grieving with you over the loss of your precious son, Joshua, whom we never had the opportunity to meet.

We are thankful to our Father in Heaven for this extraordinary young man, whom we have learned from this memorial, blessed so many in the short time he was with us on earth.

Joshua was indeed blessed to have been born to such loving parents and later joined with his adoring sister, Rachel.

Our comfort comes in knowing that one day soon we will all be reunited with our Savior in our forever homes. May His Holy Spirit comfort you today and in the days to come.

In Yeshua's love and service,

Dr. Jake and Katie Baker

Josh's advocacy for veterans goes way back. After waking up and reading a news article that should have been satire, he picked up a pencil wrote an opinion piece for The Daily Texan. It was published, and made a bit of a stir in the process!  ...he ends his piece with advice from an anthropology junior in his 20's to our nations' leaders: "If you really want to support the troops, join an adopt-a-soldier network and comfort our boys with something tangible. A yellow ribbon bumper sticker the size of a Clint Black concert can't hold a candle to a batch of cookies, some fresh socks and an encouraging note from a complete stranger."  - Joshua Huck, 8/11/2005
I have so much to thank Josh for, and so much left unsaid. I'll miss him dearly, and will cherish the time I spent with him writing, singing, and learning. I thank Josh for so many friendships that live on, and together, we mourn a bright star that has faded beyond the horizon.
Sincere condolences to Josh’s friends and family. Very sad to hear the news today. May you find comfort in knowing he impacted many lives.
