Dear Robyne, Susan, Mark and brothers,

I have known and admired Josh and your entire family since day 1.     I think about him and each of you nearly every day and how privileged we are to have been a part of your family.

Josh's fortitude and commitment to living life to the fullest always made me smile.  We always bantered about the UVA-Virginia Tech rivalry.    One of my most memorable nonprofessional experiences with Josh was when I attended the Commonwealth Cup football game as a guest of the Via Osteopathic School Dean,  Dr. Dixie Tooke-Rawlins,  when Josh played the tuba in the Virginia Tech Marching band.  (I was proud of him for that!)   I felt compelled to leave the stands to say hello.  As the band went into the tunnel, I followed, calling his name and waving to get his attention.     In typical Josh fashion, (looking out for others - at that moment, me), he pleaded with me to get out of the tunnel before I got arrested.    We laughed about it year after year.

He is missed and our thoughts and prayers are with you always.

May his memory be a blessing.

Karen

I'm sorry about Josh. He was not only a coworker but a friend.
Dear Susan, Your choir family has had you and the family in our hearts and prayers since learning of Josh's need for transplant.  We were devastated to learn the news of his passing.  We continue to keep you and the family in our thoughts and prayers. Sending love from The Chancel Choir of Salem Presbyterian Church.

I had the pleasure of knowing Joshua through work with General Motors.  He was a customer of a data collection program for his truck in which Joshua had signed up for.  He was one of my favorite customers to visit when I came to Salem to check the truck equipment and pull the data card.  He was fun to talk to and made my work enjoyable.  He was and is a gift from God to all who knew him.  I'm deeply sorry for the loss of him and my condolences go out to his family and friends.
We continue to hold you and Mark in our prayers. I am sorry we cannot attend the memorial but we will be thinking of you as you celebrate Josh’s remarkable life. Love to you, Becky and Ralph
