Joshua's obituary

Joshua K. Crandall, age 51, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Kimberly, Idaho. He was born on July 19, 1974, in Twin Falls, Idaho, where he spent much of his life and built lasting relationships within his community.

Joshua earned a bachelor’s degree in teaching and devoted his life to working with children. For more than 20 years, he served faithfully as a school bus driver, a role he truly loved. Joshua cared deeply for the children on his route and took pride in being a steady, friendly presence in their daily lives. He also spent time teaching first grade at Lincoln Elementary School, where his patience, humor, and genuine kindness made him a favorite among students. Joshua was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his faith guided the way he lived and served others.

Joshua had a joyful spirit and a personality that filled every room he entered. He was known as the life of the party and the biggest jokester, always ready with a smile, a laugh, or a playful remark to brighten someone’s day. He loved spending time with his friends and family and valued those relationships above all else. One of his greatest joys was his unique collection of angels, a hobby that reflected his gentle heart and appreciation for things that brought comfort and meaning.

Above all, Joshua loved his family. He was a proud father and grandfather who cherished every moment with his children and grandchildren. Joshua is survived by his two children, Colten Crandall of Jerome, Idaho, and Chance Crandall of Honolulu, Hawaii; his sister, Karen Obenchain, and brother, Thomas Boyd, both of Boise, Idaho; and his three beloved grandchildren, Xakari (10), Cody (6), and Elliette (5).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Shirlene (Robinett) Crandall, and his sister, Tonette Crandall Rosenau.

Joshua will be remembered for his loving heart, infectious humor, dedication to children, and the joy he brought to those around him. His laughter, kindness, and generous spirit will live on in the many lives he touched.

There will be a memorial service honoring Joshua starting at 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - Day Saints- Kimberly Stake Center; 3850 N. 3500 E., Kimberly, ID
