Joshua David Baringer, age 29 of Temple, GA, passed away on Thursday, July 31st, 2025, in hospice care at Wellstar Tranquility at Cobb Hospital. Josh was born on September 23rd, 1995 in Statesboro, GA, and resided in Reidsville, GA, during early childhood before moving to the metro Atlanta area where he spent the remainder of his life. 

Josh was a devoted son, brother, and uncle; and he loved spending time serving others. 

Josh graduated from Allatoona High School in 2014, and went on to spend 9 years working for the Cobb County School System. Josh loved his school community and was committed to helping the school environment thrive. Josh was a dedicated fan of the Atlanta Braves and Minnesota Vikings; and loved all things entertainment, specifically Marvel/DC movies, video games, and action TV. Josh enjoyed spending his time playing games with his family, reading and writing, and admiring his nephew and niece. Josh had a creative mind and a lighthearted spirit. 

Josh was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Berton Robert Baringer and Ray Freeman Smith, and aunt Darlene Marie Latzke (Baringer). Josh is survived by his parents David and Rhonda (Smith) Baringer of Temple, GA; his sisters Ashley Mariah Elizalde (Oswaldo) of Dallas, GA, and Keeley Lauren Gilmore (Alexander) of Landis, NC; nephew Micah Terry Gilmore and niece Ellie Ray Gilmore of Landis, NC. 

Additionally, Josh is survived by his grandmothers, Patricia Ann Baringer and Robbie Lee Smith, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

An informal celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, at Northstar Church 3413 Blue Springs Rd, Kennesaw, GA 30144. A gathering hour will take place at 2:00 PM prior to the service beginning at 3:00 PM. 

The family requests that you honor Josh with memorial fundraiser donations to the Atlanta Braves Foundation.
