I met Joey through my former mother in law in the early 70's when I lived in South Dartmouth as they played tennis together. What a tennis game she played. Many many years later I was volunteer coordinator of a program for people with HIV. Joey went through our training and became a "Buddy" to someone with HIV/AIDS. She dedicated herself to that role and spent many hours with a man who she taught to sail and took on adventures he would otherwise never have experienced. I know he and I appreciated her caring and dedication to our program and to him. I will forver remember her spirit of thoughtfulness. My most sincere condolences to her family and dearest friends.
