Joseph's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph “Vic” Williams, age 70, of Yorktown, Virginia, on January 20. A native of Eastern North Carolina, Vic devoted his life to family, service, and embracing life’s simple joys.

Vic proudly served 24 years in the United States Air Force as a personnel specialist, retiring with honors. Following his military career, he continued his dedication to service at Langley Air Force Base, retiring from the 633rd Force Support Squadron as a Department of State Passport Agent.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and an adoring “Papa” to his two grandsons. Vic found joy in playing golf, cultivating bonsai plants, and spending time with his family.

Vic is survived by his wife of 38 years, Terry Williams; his sons, Joey Williams and wife Meghan, and Ben Williams; his sister, Sandra Ellison; his beloved grandsons, Carson and Levi Williams; and a cherished family friend, Tanya Marshall.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25 from 3 – 5 p.m. at Amory Funeral Home in Yorktown, Virginia. An additional visitation will take place in North Carolina on Saturday, February 1 from 12 noon – 2 p.m. at Davis-Little Funerals in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. A graveside service will follow at Brake Cemetery, located at the corner of Cokey Road and Calhoun Road in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

He will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him. As Vic would often say with a reassuring smile, ‘It’s going to be alright.’
