Joe's obituary

Joseph William Stetson

July 15, 1994 — January 4, 2024

Appleton, WI

Joseph W. Stetson, 29, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 4th, 2024 due to medical complications. He was born July 15th, 1994, in Appleton, WI to parents Sherry (McDowell) Stetson and Gary Stetson. Growing up, he loved playing sports, especially baseball, camping with his family, and collecting baseball cards. He graduated from Appleton East High School and worked several years at Pierce Manufacturing, Bobcat Plus, and most recently as a concrete foreman at Milis Flatwork. Joe loved to work on anything with an engine, work on and ride his Harley, baseball, and was always the first one to show up anytime someone needed help. He was loyal, funny, and always had a witty comeback no matter what. More than anything in the world, he loved his two children, Raegan and Colton. They were his pride and joy, and nothing made him happier than spending time with them. He enjoyed going to Raegan’s dance recitals, camping, playing at the park, and having wrestling matches on the living room floor.

Joe was loved very much and will be dearly missed by his children: Raegan (4) and Colton (2); mom: Sherry (McDowell) Stetson; dad: Gary (Julie) Stetson; sister: Laura (Andy) Balliet; stepsibling: Ivy Krahn; maternal grandmother: Charmaine McDowell; mother of his children: Kyley Kroner; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: William J. Stetson and Rosalie F. Stetson, and maternal grandfather: Peter P. McDowell.

A memorial service for Joe will take place on Monday January 15, 2024, at 7:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Home, 1592 Oneida Street, Menasha. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 4:00pm until the service starts.

In lieu of flowers, a Memorial Fund has been set up for his children in Joe’s name.
