How you can help

My little brother was the type of person who would literally give the shirt off his back if someone else needed it. He was very loyal, loving and protective of those he loved and surrounded ded himself with. Joey was the sweetest, gentlest teddy bear you could ever know. He was the friend you always wanted around in any situation... whether it was you needing to vent and home lending a ear, you needing a shoulder to cry on when you were sad or grieving. He always seemed to know the exact way to always cheer you up... with either one of his goofy jokes, ridiculous dance moves or a simple hug. To me... he was my big little brother, my best friend, my confidant, my protector. Roles are suppose to be reversed I'm the big sister who's suppose to protect him... but it didn't turn out that way. He was big in size and scary looking... me standing next to him I'm a tiny person. I was the chihuahua he was my pitbull... I've got the mouth, he had the bark and bite to back me up.
Joey lost his way for a bit but finally found his path that he was gonna venture on... get married, have children... finally make me an auntie. But god had other plans... Joey was taken from us suddenly without warning. One day here, the next gone. He was only 31 with a whole lot of life left ahead of him... a big sister to still protect, nieces and nephews to school, great nieces and nephews to spoil and more to eventually meet. Joey was loved by everyone even ppl he had just met 5 minutes before... he had that kind of caring, loving soul that everyone just was drawn to him. He will be deeply missed by MANY but he will never be forgotten. Joey will always remain in our hearts.
