Happy 30th birthday Joseph. Tears are in my eyes and my heart aches as I write this, but the tears and heartache are for those you left behind, those that love you dearly and miss your physical presence. I know that you still hear and feel our prayers for your peace and joy, and I know that you are in the presence of eternal love and that you are blissfully happy.
MY sincere condolences to his brothers and to Mr. & Mrs. Donald Rooms. May his soul rest in peace.

My dear dear Sandra and Donald, how I grieve with you both and the family for the loss of Joseph.  Gillian Thomas Burke shared the tragic news with me and I just watched the service.  The last sentence of the slide show struck me and how true it is that we all die but not all of live.  Your son seems to have truly lived and gave himself to everyone, and no doubt he will inspire others to live their best life always.  May his memory be for a blessing.  Sending nuff love.....

Remember Me

To the living, I am gone; to the sorrowful, I will never return.

To the angry, I was cheated, but to the happy, I am at peace,

And to the faithful, I have never left.

I cannot speak, but I can listen. I cannot be seen, but I can be heard.

So as you stand upon a shore, gazing at a beautiful sea, Remember me.

As you look upon a flower and admire it's simplicity, Remember me.

Remember me in you hearts, thoughts, and your memories of the

times we loved, the times we cried, the times we fought, the times we laughed.

For if you always think of me, I will never be gone.

Please accept my deepest condolences. May God grant you comfort in this your time of loss.

Donald and Sandra,

As you can imagine this tragedy has affected me so deeply especially as my youngest daughter was born roughly a week before Joseph and we spoke frequently about their common milestones including when they started UCF at the same time.

While the pain is still too fresh I hope the following passage eventually gives you some comfort:

When you’re going through a season of great change and stress, how do you maintain joy?

You do it by developing the habit of thanking God for all that’s good, despite all that’s bad.

This principle is found in 1 Thessalonians 5:18: “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus” (NLT). This means that we should develop an attitude of gratitude in every situation. It doesn’t mean that we have to be thankful for everything that happens to us, especially the bad things like cancer or car accidents. We don’t have to be thankful for all the evil in the world.

But every time you take a minute to express gratitude to God about anything—it could be your favorite music, nature spot, or Scripture—it helps refill your empty emotional tank so you can move forward in life. Choosing to be thankful is for your own good; it keeps you from getting bitter and helps you make it to the finish line.

Being grateful is easy when your emotional tank is full and things are going great in your life. It’s much harder to find something to be thankful for when you’re facing a crisis or prolonged chronic stress. But that’s when you need to express gratitude the most.

One of the most practical yet powerful habits you can develop is to make a daily gratitude list. Just sit down for five minutes each day and ask yourself, “What am I grateful for?” It’s a habit that will strengthen your soul and keep you going when you feel like giving up.

May your deep faith guide and sustain you during these devastating times.

Royston and Deanne.

All the light and energies to his soul in his crossing to the eternal existence. All my heart with you family in these unspeakable circumstances. Prayers and more love from the FIU CIBER team.

There are no words to adequately convey the depth of devastating sorrow felt by those left behind after such a bright light has departed so soon, so unexpectedly. I cannot even begin to fathom .... I can only pray that somehow it is possible for all who loved Joseph and will miss him dearly to know that he is indeed in the arms of Our Heavenly Father.  I pray for a miracle of faith to give his parents, siblings, and all who knew and loved him, some measure of peace and comfort and endurance and keep them connected to Joseph's eternal soul so they can be assured of his happiness in Heaven.  Thank you Joseph for Blessing us with the gift of your presence. I remember you as a young boy filled with a vibrant spark and fullness of life. Your life was short - we do not understand why God willed it that way - but, you touched us, and you brought happiness to many.

Dear Ronald,

I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences to you and your family. Keeping you all in my special prayers for peace and comfort.

Sincerely, Rosangel Quintero

From the first time I met Jo, he was always such a outgoing, loving, respectful, and personable guy. We never had a dull moment together, and he was truly unlike anyone I'd ever met before. He always made me feel welcomed and gave me a sense of belonging anywhere we went. I will always cherish the time we spent together and the memories we made. To all his friends and family - my sincerest condolences. His memory, spirit, and energy will always live on through all of us.
