Joseph's obituary
Joseph James Pierce, affectionately known as Joey, passed away one month ago, on February 17, 2025, in Winter Haven, Florida at the age of 63. His passing was the result of a tragic hit-and-run accident.
Born on June 17, 1961, in Millville, New Jersey, Joey spent his life surrounded by family and friends who meant the world to him. He had a deep appreciation for art and creativity, particularly through drawing and tattooing. His artistic talents were a defining part of his life, bringing joy to both himself and those around him.
Joey cherished time spent with his loved ones. Whether gathering with family or enjoying the company of friends, he found happiness in these connections. His warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his father, Elton Pierce Sr. and his stepmother Rose Pierce of Florida, his children, Renee and Cynthia, and Matthew, his sisters Jane Murphine Birk (daughters Melissa, Amy & Jennifer) and her husband Adam Birk of Florida, and Susan LeBlanc-Day (daughters Madison & Jessica) and her husband Albert Day Jr. of New Jersey; his brother Firman LeBlanc Jr. (daughter Brittany) of New Jersey; his brother-in-law Shane Warino (daughter Shannon & son Shane Jr) of Mississippi; his grandchildren, Courtney Hagelgans and Robert Dalton of Tennessee; his brothers Butch Derby, Eddie, Joseph R., and Jimmy Pierce of Florida; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and the friends he considered family, which are too many to name.
Joey was preceded in death by his mother, Rowena (Hamblin) LeBlanc; his stepfather, Firman LeBlanc Sr.; his brothers Elton Pierce Jr. and Henry LeBlanc; his sister Renee LeBlanc-Warino; and his ex-wife Donna Hagelgans.
