Joseph's obituary

Joseph A. Novak 10/15/1930 – 10/23/2019.
Attorney, Artist & Author
Joe was born in Springfield MA, son of Benjamin D. Novak and Mae Lavitt Novak.
He was a graduate of Dartmouth College class of 1952 and Harvard Law School class of 1955.
He also studied at The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture at N.Y. University and also The Parson School of Design.
From September 1955 through November 1958 he was on active duty with The U.S. Navy as an Assistant Legal Officer at The U.S. Navy Station in Newport RI.
After a successful career as an attorney, Joe decided to pursue his passion as an artist and dedicated the last 38 years of his life to create an extensive collection of paintings and prints.
In 2010 he wrote the book “Something to Do with Wings” where he describes his full and adventurous life.
He passed away at his home in Rancho Mirage CA and is survived by his sister Judith Gorlick his niece Laurie, nephews Jeff and David, 4 grandnieces and his partner Wilfredo J. Lebron.
