It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Lee Nicholas “Papa Joe" Born on December 19, 1938, Joseph left us on March 7, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and countless fond memories. Known affectionately as Papa Joe, he always preferred the traditional moniker, Joseph.
Joseph's endearing personality was one of his most defining traits. He was kind, loving, funny, and big-hearted. He had a knack for making people laugh, and his heart was always open to friends and family. His kindness illuminated the world of those who were fortunate to cross his path in life.
Throughout his life, Joseph shared many valuable lessons with those around him. He taught his loved ones the virtue of patience, emphasizing that life shouldn't always be rushed but enjoyed at a leisurely pace. He also passed on practical wisdom, such as his unique way of verifying if a cake is done baking by using a toothpick. He loved Classic Cars, Bald Eagles and the Price Is Right Show.
Among his many accomplishments, Joseph retired from PG&E after many years of hard work. His determination and dedication were a testament to his character, and he made a significant impact within the organization. His contributions and hardworking nature are fondly remembered by his former colleagues.
Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Antonia Nicholas, and his three daughters, Venitia Gregoire, Romi Sartain, and Joey Waters. He is also survived by All his grandchildren Kristin Gregoire, Roger Gregoire(R.J.), Brittney Gregoire ,Chantell Fithian ,Joseph Fowler ,Danica Papagni ,Tiara Arce, Anthony Water’s,Stefanie Stanford,Stefan Waters.
All his Great-Grandchildren Tiana Gregoire, Bella Gregoire, Gaby Gregoire, Samantha Bravo, Layla Gregoire, Lucus Fithian, Makenzie Fithian, Rylee Fithian, Skylur Fowler, Matthew Sabo, Betsey Waters, Zoie Black, Stevona Waters, Aria Waters, Milliano Papagni, Luciano Papagni.
We will cherish his memory, and he will be deeply missed.
