It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Michael Hernandez announce his passing, aged 41 on March 8, 2020.

Joey loved his career in the nursing field helping others and making people happy. He was a huge jokester but got scared easily.
Joey loved to make people laugh and was loved by many.

Joey loved his sports. He loved complaining about the Bears losing all the time to his siblings and loved his White Sox. Joey was born with the talent of artistry. At a young age I remember him drawing Looney Tunes characters on his wall and it all started from there. He kept painting and found it to be quite therapeutic.

Joey loved to cook. He could turn a carrot into a gourmet meal. He made the best chili. He loved music so much. Africa from ToTo and Dancing Queen will always remind me of him because he would bust out a dance.

Joey was a successful track star. I remember my parents dragging me to his races as a kid but man, that boy could run.
Joey is at peace now and probably partying with our Late uncle, Marty Hernandez.

He leaves behind his loving father Joe Hernandez, Step mother Veva Hernandez; siblings Alicia Lindman, Jennifer Lee, Nichole Hitchcock, Jaqueline Alaniz, Jason Schau, Tony Hernandez, John Nicholson, Stephanie Santone, and April Allemon; grandmothers Ethel Bunge and Petra Hernandez; Aunts/Uncles Jesse Hernandez, Cathy Hernandez, Lise Hernandez, Manny, Bobby Hernandez, Debbie Hernandez. Joey was also an uncle to many, many nephews, nieces and cousins that mourn his loss as well.
