Joseph C. Kertanis age 67, passed away April 2nd, 2024, after a period of declining health, in Rochester NH.

Joe was the first born to Joseph F. & Lena M. (Smith) Kertanis. He arrived on August 25th 1956 at Waltham Hospital, Waltham MA. Joe was raised in Maynard, MA until 1971 when the family moved to Hampton, NH. He graduated from Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, NH with the class of ’74. He was a member of the Warrior Football Team, played hockey and loved to ski.

After graduation Joe worked for Dynamic Ski, Dave’s Garage, The L St. Tavern, Town of Hampton, Foss Manufacturing, Portsmouth Regional Hospital, Georgia Pacific Gypsum in Newington and finished his working days at Clean Earth in Concord, NH.

Joe had a passion for helping those in need and fixing broken things. With great skill, he loved tinkering on cars and anything that needed fixing. You could always count on Joe to lend a helping hand whenever he found someone in need. Joe’s final years on this earth while challenging physically were filled with folks that loved him.

He leaves behind his wife Patricia, son Daniel J., wife Brittany and grandson Kilian S., son Michael J. and girlfriend Leann Sbrizza, brother Gary Kertanis of Maynard, MA and sister Sandra Lebel of Wakefield, NH, mother-in-law Jackie Moughan of Amesbury, several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph F., mother Lena M. and brother Daniel S. Kertanis.
