Joseph ( Joey)'s obituary
Joseph (Joey) Michael Martin
May 11,1981 - December 11, 2024
It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved friend, son, brother and grandson Joseph (Joey) Martin. Joey was the son to Sue and John Martin and brother to JP and Ducky.
Joey was a native of Hampton, Va, where he is best known for his love of art, pizza, tattooing, and most importantly, generosity.
Joey enjoyed traveling and made it his goal to leave a little piece of his brothers in every country he visited. He loved being outside where he was the most happy and at peace. He had a passion for collecting items, but his prized collection people. Once you were part of the collection you became a piece of his art.
Joey is survived by his loving father John Martin, grandmother Dorothy Martin, aunts Melissa Miller, Patricia Heath, uncle David Martin, numerous cousins and faithful pup Stella.
Joey is preceded in death by his beloved mother Sue Martin, brothers John Martin(JP) and Donald Martin(Ducky), niece Kayla Martin and pups Carmen and Little Bit.
Although, Joey’s time on earth was short, he will forever be remembered by the ink on your skin, the deep conversations that made an impact on your life, a painting on the wall, or just for bringing that simple brightness to your day knowing he was a person you could count on and call your family.
Remember Joey for his hugs that will be forever missed, yet forever felt by those who loved him, his laugh that still lingers in your mind through the tears and him saying “every little tings gonna be alright”.
He had a strength that made him a giant on this earth.
To honor Joey give your loved ones a Joey sized squeeze, take an old friend out for a pizza, donate to a non profit like the Yash Gandhi foundation (i-cell disease research) in memory of his niece, Kayla Bug or the American Diabetes Association.
We will celebrate the legacy of Joseph (Joey) Martin, January 19. Please follow FB for updates.
