Joseph's obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph "Joe" Hoover. Joe, a prolific author, artist, and beloved family man, departed this life on the 15th of September, 2024, leaving a legacy adorned with remarkable achievements and memories of his vivacious spirit.

Born on the 3rd of February 1940, Joseph was a man known for his outgoing nature and his ability to be the life of the party. His jovial demeanour and contagious enthusiasm added warmth to every room he entered, making lives brighter and more delightful.

Pioneering a significant career as a photographer and writer, Joe published several works, including a memoir of his youth as a preacher's son. Throughout, he was ever-present partner and creative collaborator of his wife, Anni.

He began his career as an Air Force photographer, documenting tremendous points in US History, including the Vietnam War and the tensions with Cuba. In civilian life, he became a talented commercial videographer and film maker. He created a large catalog of video productions for television and movies.

His contributions to literature and the art community were profound and will continue to inspire for many generations to come.

Apart from his creative endeavors, Joe was a loving husband to his wife, Anni Adkins, and an endearing father to his children, Korina Adkins, Matthew Hoover and Michael Hoover. His five grandchildren brought him boundless delight. The love, guidance, and support he provided his family with will forever be cherished and remembered.

Joseph's extraordinary accomplishments aside, his most significant legacy remains his vast repertoire of photography and writing. His creations, filled with beauty, emotion, and insight, will continue to touch hearts and stir minds, keeping the essence of Joseph "Joe" Hoover very much alive in our world.

To Anni, Korina, Matthew, Michael and all who were fortunate enough to know Joseph, we extend our deepest sympathies. May the fond memories of his vibrant spirit bring comfort and solace during this difficult time. The world has lost a splendid soul, but heaven has gained a magnificent angel. Rest in peace, Joseph "Joe" Hoover.
