Joseph's obituary
Joe had always been in great physical shape, being an active snow skier, scuba diver, bicyclist, having held several black belts and competing in martial arts. He was an Andalusian horse owner, loved to travel and was an avid writer of military and adventure stories, and authored "U. S. Archives: Vol 1, The Run for the Crystal Palace."
He was a professional make-up artist in the TV and movie industry for the past 40 years, having been Department Head for several long-running shows, starting with Dallas back in the early 80's and had just retired from NCIS on May 3rd, after 15 seasons as their Dept. Head of make-up and special effects, working alongside long-time friend and colleague, Carla Dean, Hair Dept. Head.
In recent years Joe developed some heart problems. After going through several surgeries and procedures and having an amazing team of UCLA cardiologists on his side, we thought we finally had a handle on the heart issues and had them under control. His passing came as a shock to his doctors, as well as the rest of us. Joe was 60 years old.
Joe is survived by his fiancée, Sheri Dickerson, her children, Holton, Trey, Sierra and Blaine and by Chuck House, his "Brother," his lifelong, closest friend.
