Joe in Eastern Market
One of my favorite things about Joe was his ability to find humor in tough situations. His wit and keen sense of the absurd are well remembered by those of us who knew him. He was always willing to lend his ear and a laugh to friends during trying times. The countless shenanigans that Joe and I got into back in the day make up a huge part of who I am now. I am truly saddened to hear of his passing. I offer my condolences to his family, and hope that he rests in peace.

Joe had the best, most original dance moves and loved to be around his friends. He was kind, gentle, and had an unparalleled sense of humor.   He was always there to support his friends at shows and his jokes, energy and love of people made him an integral member and major player in the scrummage family.  His smile and kind hearted spirit will be missed.  My heart goes out to his family and to Bill, who he loved like a brother.

Joe was the greatest dancer, I have an image of him dancing to the band Mannikin locked into my mind.

I will always remember and miss the mischievous twinkle in Joe's eyes. I wish he could have been with all of us longer to laugh, to love, and to create good memories.
Joe will be sorely missed, but his spirit and laugh not forgotten. RIP my friend

Joe was a great friend from the time we were young. Our families (the Powers and the Earls/Smallwoods) were closely intertwined.

We spent many weekends camping, hiking, exploring and playing games. I remember many moments of jest and play with Joey.

Joe was funny and was passionate about comedy. He would analyze stand up comedians and would work out routines of his own for stand up at various open mic nights and events. He worked hard at his craft and was always happy to share a joke and a laugh with friends.

I remember a few nights watching him preform and although very nervous, he was able to get our table rolling with laughter.

I believe Joes greatest passion was his daughters and I think he did the best he was able for them.

Joe had a good heart at it's core and will be missed.

Rest peacefully Joey
