Joseph's obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph Nicholas DiFranco, a beacon of love and kindness, who left us on September 14, 2025. Born on July 26, 1946, Joseph lived his life with a passion for the simple joys, leaving a lasting impression on everyone whose lives he touched.

Joseph is survived by his dedicated wife, Crystal, and his four loving children – daughters, Kayla Bless and Angelina DiFranco and sons, Chad DiFranco and Ryan Whiting. He is lovingly remembered by his son-in-law, Chris Bless, and daughter-in-law, Kelly DiFranco. A doting grandfather, Joseph leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Hunter, Aurora, and Juniper Bless. His mother, Lena Spiteriele, and brother, John (Jack) Gutmann, predeceased him.

A man of simple pleasures, Joseph's favorite meals were often a classic burger and fries followed by ice cream. He enjoyed black coffee, V8 juice, and Diet Mountain Dew. In the quiet moments, he could be found engrossed in a book by favorite authors like David Balducci or John Grisham, or singing to Moody Blues and ABBA. His love for Westerns and anything featuring John Wayne was iconic, while Thomas Kinkade’s paintings always caught his eye.

Joseph was a loyal fan of Atlanta Braves, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Kansas City Chiefs. His favorite game was solitaire. His trip of a lifetime was to the Amalfi Coast and Sicily. He also loved the beaches of Punta Cana. Mostly, he was a simple man and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Joseph was an amazing man. Kind, gentle, easygoing, jovial, and loved to laugh. Joseph was also calming, a great listener, and warm. He lived a life rooted in honesty and kindness. He loved with his whole heart, would do anything to help anyone, and never expected anything in return. He taught his family the meaning of love, and how to live life at its finest. To him, the simple things in life mattered the most. To him, family was everything.

A distinguished Coast Guard, Joseph faced and overcame many obstacles in his life, never once giving up. He always radiated positivity. His legacy will forever be a life lived with kindness and unconditional love. Joseph was the kindest, most trustworthy, honorable man with a pure heart, who taught us life's precious lessons.

In lieu of flowers, the family is raising funds for "Family Support" at a designated website. Joseph will forever live in our hearts for his kindness, gentle spirit, and the love and laughter he brought to our lives.
