Mike's mom was such a radiant and sweet person. I remember the first time I met her, we were relaxing in the kitchen of the Howland Street house. Mike's family had came over for a meal and his mom made me laugh so much. I think she was mentally going through the list of single family members to figure out who to set me up with... lol She was a much loved, respected and stylish woman. Sending virtual hugs and love to my Toronto family. oxo

Sympathies and strength to the Aquino family. We met Tita Josie here in Canada through my mom, Rose Olaso, who was also Tito Joe's colleague at Central Bank Philippines. My husband, Anecto Gallardo, from Balanga, Bataan, also discovered that he is distantly related to Tito Joe (Banzon connection?) Tito and Tita have been part of our circle through our growing up years. They visited me at the hospital when I had my first baby by emergency C-section over 27 years ago. I remember visiting them in Barrie and visiting them at their Toronto place as well and Tita Josie telling me that her fave dessert is actually very simple. Frozen banana! Lovely memories....rest in peace Tita💕......Rissa and Banduy Gallardo
Our condolences to the family. May she Rest in Peace.

Rest in Peace dear Josie and may the Lord provide comfort to all your loved ones . I will always recall from my "Bank of Memories" the times we've been together, along with your loving Joe, from good old Central Bank days, to your relocation from Manila to Iligan/Davao and ultimately to Canada (from Barrie to downtown Toronto). I can also recall your untiring energy in whatever activity you were engaged in your career from being a broker, businesswoman, designer etc. . Most of all, I recall our "relaxing" moments playing mahjong, dancing, eating or just plain talking about family/friends or whatever subject we found interesting . Till we meet again dear Josie in God's eternal kingdom and thanks for over 50 years of friendship ............from Rose (Olaso), now based in Michigan, U.S.A. & also under the world-wide Corona regime .

We met Lola Josie Aquino when we first arrived as immigrants to Canada in year 2007. Marjess, our friend talked highly of her and Lolo Jose because of their generous hearts. Even though we were not immediate relatives, Lola Josie treated us as such -extending all the help and guidance she could give us. She would surprise us with cooked meals at our apartment close to theirs, she one time joined us at our dental appointment then went to shop for dresses for our two girls. She also joins us at Spadina when she goes to market there. When we moved to Ajax- occasionally when we would visit them in downtown - they would prepare special meals for us and chat and show so
much love to our kids. Thank you, Lola Josie for your beautiful heart. You will be dearly missed. All our prayers for you, Lolo Jose and your family- love, Ken, Brinna Makalintal and Children
