Our most sincerest condolances. Had I not watched the Puertorican Day Parade, We would not have known of his illness and passing. Our youngest Son, at the age of 5, maybe 6 years old loved to bang on just about everything. My Husband and I spoke about looking for someone who could teach him how to play the congas. It's been so long, I can't even tell you how we found "Don Pepe", but he gladly taught our now 29 year old son how to play congas and other drums. Rest in Peace Don Pepe 😇🤞
Pepe is the father of 4 beautiful children. They all share his creative nature. 2 of those children are mine. Our marriage did not end well, but we remained friends till his end. Pepe was fun and loving and I loved to watch him perform. He played many instruments and was a very strict when it came to music….
I became one of the Archice Photographers for THE SALSA MUSEUM (No longer in business) a store front on 3rd Ave. between 116 & 117 St. in the late 1990's. During that time I had the opportunity to meet "close up" . many of personnalities . One of them was PEPE CASTILLO.
