Jose (Joe)'s obituary

Jose (Joe) Antonio Velasquez, age 73, died Saturday January, 26 in Modesto, California at Doctor Medical Center.
Mr. Velasquez is survived by a wife, Sylvia, three children: Melissa Velasquez, Jose Velasquez Jr. and Stephanie Velasquez. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, Natile Guerrero, Lissette Flores, Jose Velasquez III, Anthony Guerrero and Cruz Gloria.
Jose is a veteran of the Vietnam War, he grew up in Uvalde, Texas the oldest son of Felipé Velasquez and Anita Velasquez. He is also survived by his siblings Yolanda Velasquez, Irene Contreras and Arnulfo Velasquez. He served as a MP in Vietnam War. He took pride in his work as a welder and worked for VP buildings in Turlock for over 20 years. Family to him was everything; through his life he continuously donated his time in helping many people and charities. He was a member of the VFW Post 3199 for many years and strived to help other through his lifetime. He had a passion for the outdoors. He enjoyed, hunting, fishing, camping and riding his Harley Davidson. He had a special love for his 1970 Chevy truck and was involved in the annual graffiti cruise for many, many years.
