Jorge's obituary
Funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church on August 3rd, 2020 at 9:30 AM for viewing and followed by mass with Rev. Fr. Cesar Rubiano of Our Lady of the Angels Parish officiating. A private cremation will follow.
Jorge Eduardo was born in Sogamoso, Boyaca. Colombia to Maria del Carmen Guio Aponte and Noe Ramirez Rojas on August 1st, 1939. He went to high school at Colegio Aleman and graduated in 1957. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering from Universidad Incca de Colombia and a Masters in Systems Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. He held IT Director positions at Azulejos Corona, Bavaria Brewing Company, Bogota's Chamber of Commerce, and Universidad del Rosario spanning close to 4 decades. He enjoyed traveling, sports, music, and reading. He was a successful gymnast. He competed in the 1971 Pan American Games, representing Colombia. He went on to win Bronze and Silver Medals in pommel horse and rings. He served as a judge in gymnastics for the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico.
Jorge Eduardo is survived by his wife Elba; son Juan Carlos Ramirez, son and daughter-in-law Herbert Eduardo and Cara Ramirez and son and daughter-in-law Jorge Luis and Erin Ramirez; granddaughter Sarah Estefania Ramirez; eleven brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
