Jonita was a true friend with a huge heart of love for her family and friends. There was never a time she would not stop everything she was doing and listen with a loving heart to what you needed to share. I will miss her until forever with Jesus comes. My heart grieves with you

I knew Jonita and her family from Northway Baptist, and ALWAYS enjoyed what few times she & I had a chance to just visit alone without distraction/interruption (which was nigh to impossible around that group of outgoing members!?!). She was always so gracious and genuine. Prayers to ALL the family that knew her inside & out and that will miss her daily!!!

I have been Jonita’s financial advisor since about 2003, when she walked into my office with all her financial documents. She said her brother recommended she meet with an advisor from Edward Jones. I remember that day like it was yesterday. She always had that ability to make you feel special and important to her. I will truly miss our financial review meetings going forward when I travel back to Dallas for my clients.
My client relationship with Jonita soon became one that I would call a trusted friend relationship. She was always interested in me and my family. Every time she had opportunity, Jonita would build me up with encouragement and praise. That’s just who she was! If I had to describe Jonita with one word, I would say Christlike. She was that in every way. Dr. Charles Stanley’s sermon this morning asked the burning question, “When you come to the end of your life, what do you want people to remember about you?” The best answer, he said, was “he/she walked with God.” I think that best described Jonita.
I’ve had the opportunity over the past several years to get to know her son, Mark. And what a wonderful son he is! And this past April during my business trip in Dallas, I had the special privilege of including her daughter, Layne, in our discussions. It’s obvious to me that Jonita raised her children well. I’m sorry to say that was the last time I would see Jonita. I will miss her more than you know. Save me a seat at Jesus’ table in Heaven, Jonita!
