Captain Jonathan, our hearts …
2022, Chicago Lake Michigan
Captain Jonathan, our hearts are so broken and we are going to miss you so much! You were so loved by your entire Sweet Emotion Crew😢 Rest easy ourfearless Captain til we meet again❤️⚓️🛥️ — with Sweet Emotion Crew
This is such a terrible loss, my heart is truly broken. Jonathan and I met in 2018 at our favorite Mexican restaurant Cafe El Tapatio and became instant friends. Jon loved music! We vibed on the classics and blasted music in the back patio often. He opened his home to me during the pandemic, letting me stay on his second floor rent free. I got to know his sweet girls Rosalie and Charolette, as well as his niece and nephew Sarah and Daniel very well. Jonathan was a fantastic father, I remember that quite well. He would do anything for his daughters and they loved him just as fiercely. He would do anything for anyone. The greatest gift Jon gave me was their dog Pepper, and I am so so grateful for that. My heart goes out to his family. I can’t imagine what they are going through at this time. I hope you are in heaven making music with the greats, Jonathan. Wish I could have said goodbye. Rest in peace.

I met Jon when I was new to Chicago. It was at the authentically Irish restaurant called Cullens, where I worked. He became my friend and pal for the years to come. He was a lot like a big brother, and always would tell me the places to go for music . We both are from Michigan so we had that in common. He reminded me a lot of my older sister in the way he would make fun of me or tell me when I was being an ass. We definitely had compete opposite personalities and I think that’s why we got along. Yin and Yang! His humor was funny to me. He did encourage me to stay sober and not drink, which I have, and will help others to do so in my life. He was a good egg, as he would say Jon once bought me this  colorful orange and yellow painting from this pancake art festival which I’ll always remember🧡. I’m truly heart broken for this loss. I can’t believe it’s real and I hope he knows how sad we all are  and how he will be so missed. God bless his family and sending my love and condolences. ~Jillian💐

I have been friends with Jonathan since the late nineties when we were just kids playing in bands.  25 years later (wow, where does it go) I would still get texts about a new song he loved or a band he was inspired by.  Sometimes it would be a voice memo of him humming a melody he thought I could use.  I will save these forever and think of you often J.  Much love to your family.
I just want to say , you will be missed brother . You were a great friend, and one amaizing guy. We love you .

My  deepest condolences to Sylvia, Rosie and Charlotte. Jonathan is an amazing, loving father,  very giving and kind at heart. I first met him in front of his daughters elementary school where he was waiting to pick them up from school! My daughter was new to the school and Rosie was first to befriend her! She eagerly told dad that she wanted her new best friend over for dinner! Jonathan asked if my daughter and I was available and graciously invited us over. Little did I know, we would then become a part of the Moss family:) Jonathan opened up his home to my daughter and I, welcomed us with open arms and treated us like family. From Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, birthday party celebrations, movie nights, Barbecues, and numerous sleepovers, I mean we practically lived there!! this was our home away from home❤

The countless memories  are forever present in our minds and Jonathan will forever live in our hearts. You are truly missed :( WE LOVE YOU DEAR FRIEND❤❤❤

Jonathan-  my first and best friend in 3rd grade when I was the new kid because Cook Elementary closed down and we merged into Geiger Elementary.    We played on the monkey bars and threw baseballs so much at recess that i had pussy calluses on my hands.   Guess you made this girl more of a Tom boy that year.  AND, you taught me pig Latin which was a big deal in 3rd grade!  Through the years - classes, band, taking drivers training together, working at the Cadillac House, you giving me rides to school in that old black pick up truck…. Your friendship holds a special place.  Rest easy Onathan Jay Oss May.

My thoughts and prayers are with dear Silvia and loving daughters Rosie and Charlotte.  May Jonathan’s soul find peace with our Lord who is most loving, forgiving and merciful.
