Thinking of you often but especially today on your birthday. I am sure you are raising hell somewhere singing your favorite songs and playing music. The fishing must be spectacular. Β If you see my dad or my uncle jerry take them fishing. They were avid fisherman and I know they would love you. Rest easy Soda. You will never be forgotten. Β In the short time I knew you I learned a lot. Keep in between the lines. Always remember shine downs version of simple man was better than the original. lol.Β
Man, Iβve never met a stronger individual in all my life. He is, and always will be, missed and admired. Β I never told him that I always valued his strengthβI think he just would have laughed it off. Β Miss ya buddy.
Oh John, how you are missed.Β My renaissance man.Β You were so smart and so kind.Β You also thought you could get one over on me.Β I remember telling you that if you wanted to get one over on me you needed to lessons from my son since he was so much better at it than you were.Β But you held your own for sure.Β I wish I could have been there for you more and maybe you'd be here today so we could tell great stories and laugh about them.Β I always loved having conversations with you.Β Some of them so deep and meaningful.Β In the short time we knew one another you left an indelible mark on my soul.Β I pray you are catching all the fish you can catch.Β You would be so proud of your WMS employees and safety department through COVID.Β Everybody did such a great job staying healthy and six feet apart. It would have made you crazy for sure!Β Rest easy my friend.Β We'll take care of things down here until we meet again!Β Keep it between the lines Soda! Keep it between the yellow lines!
Laura and family. I was just sitting here working today and Jon's name popped up in my report and I sit here trying not to cry, but to laugh instead of how he drove me absolutely insane! Everything you said in your tribute was so true. He was the quirkiest, kindest, funniest and most of all a gifted human being. I am sorry I couldn't spend the rest of my career with him trying to figure out what made me tick. I told him his psychological evaluations didn't work on me as I had a son who was better at it than he was. He would just laugh and tell me someday. We traded many stories in the short time I knew him. What a wonderful man. We all miss him so much. Everytime I hear Simpleman on the radio i just point up to the sky and thank him for visiting with me that day! Missing you today Sodapop! You were a person who came into my life for such a short time but a person I will certainly never forget! Love to the family and this was such a beautiful tribute! Love ya Sodapop! Your work mom!
