Sincere condolences to the Matthews family. I had the fortune of working with Jon for 15 years while at Hilti and then the past few years with STI. Part of my decision in coming aboard with STI was the opportunity to work with some old friends... who like me had lost more hair or turned a shade of gray. Lol
"We are who we are when on the clock, as defined by who we are when off the clock". Jon demonstrated this by expressing his love and affection for his family, which showed in his professional life and commitment by freely sharing his knowledge and expertise with the industry. Work life balance can be difficult, but Jon always had a smile and we shared stories of family & passion of grilling.
Sometimes we don't understand the turns in the road of life, but ultimately is not up to us... and we're not in control. God bless you and your family during this time and the days ahead.

Melissa, I have never met you, but I’ve known Jon since I was in elementary school. He was one of my dads closest friends and I know you and dad had gotten close over the years. I haven’t seen Jon in about ten years, but my heart goes out to you and the boys. I know this season comes with a lot of unknowns and I want you to know that me and my family are praying for your heart to heal.

Oh Jon! I have so many memories I don't know where to begin. Our families grew up in church together. You lived with Gary in college. When Gary asked if I was nervous about living together as husband and wife I joked that anyone who could live with Jon could easily live with me. You were there when he proposed, stood next to him at our wedding and celebrated the birth of our children. We lived in the same neighborhood enjoying cookouts and home remodeling projects and you got to work with Gary for the past 19 or so years. He loved you so much! WE love you so much! I hope your soul is at peace.
To Melissa, you are a beautiful representation of a loving wife and we know you both found your forever in each other. I'm so sorry for your loss.
