Although I knew Jon since the 7th grade the most fun I had with him was probably the many fishing Derby trips to Diamond and Sleeper Islands. So many memories. A not so good one was one February it was so cold in the cottage on Diamond Island that in the middle of the night sodas and beers started to explode in the cabin! We thought it was the apocolypse! I think it was colder inside the cabin than outside!
But mostly I remember his laugh that he shared freely and often and, of course his voice echoing across the lake when one of the traps sprung, "FLAG!"

To the Leach Family,
I was heartbroken to hear the news about Jon. I had the privilege of working with him at Spectrum Holobyte/MicroProse and later at Hasbro, where I reported to him for a time. I absolutely adored Jon—he was smart, funny, kind, and endlessly positive. His coworkers and customers held him in the highest regard.
We often traveled together to visit customers in Canada, where—thanks to his hockey background—he was practically revered. I’ll never forget when Ben was born, and Jon told me, “Ben can do whatever he wants, as long as it’s on skates!” It was so endearing and so Jon. He was immensely proud of his kids and never missed a chance to talk about them whenever we caught up.
Even after our Hasbro days, we stayed in touch from time to time. I live in Chicago, and Jon would always send me texts about Chicago sports—he never missed a beat. We even said goodbye together in Boston to our old colleague, Steve Pease. I like to think Steve was waiting for him at the pearly gates with a cold one in hand.
Jon was truly one of the best. Wishing your family peace, love, and comfort during this incredibly difficult time.
God bless you all.

My prayers for Jon who is freed of this web of Alzheimer’s. My friend who I last spoke to in 2019, so proud of his children and what each was up to. And to his family, enjoying the Wolfboro area and lake with them. You’ve all been a rock. I can’t imagine your pain along the way. I loved my HS buddy- Jon, “Leachy” rest in peace now, friend.
