Drew's obituary

Jonathan Andrew “Drew” Jensen

Born February 14, 1987 – Bend, Oregon

Passed August 3, 2025 – Wenatchee, Washington

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 2:30pm, our beloved Jonathan Andrew “Drew” Jensen, 38, left this world surrounded by his wife, parents, sister, and others who cherished him most. Though his passing leaves an ache words cannot fill, his life was a gift — vibrant, adventurous, and protective

Drew was more than a son, brother, father, husband, and friend — he was a light that burned fiercely and touched everyone around him. He had a sharp wit and boundless humor, often making others laugh even in the hardest moments. He was endlessly curious, with a mind that soaked up knowledge of history, current events, and the world around him. If you needed wisdom, a fact, or simply a good laugh, Drew was there.

He was also a man of profound courage and dedication. First and foremost, Drew was a United States Marine — a title he carried with immense pride. He lived to serve, protect, and push himself beyond limits. Growing up, he had a deep passion for all things wildlife, especially reptiles. Often bringing home snakes, lizards, frogs, anything he could. His lifetime idol was Steve Irwin, Drew and his sister dreamed of opening their own reptile park in his honor. His adventurous spirit led him to become a Scuba Dive Master in Florida, a commercial fisherman in the Pacific, Oregon, a wild land firefighter, and he got a CDL and traveled the county. He even hiked the South Sister in Oregon. And he loved football, wether it was watching NFL, college, or his son and stepson play. Those who knew him, knew he was a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan, even though they’ve never won a Super Bowl and it’s been 47 years since they’ve been in one …. Just saying …

There are endless stories, funny, sad, scary and beautiful. Everything Drew did, he did with his whole heart. Wherever life took him, Drew embraced it with determination, grit, and the heart of a protector.

But beyond all his accomplishments, Drew’s greatest devotion was to the people he loved. He was the best friend, protector, and hero of his little sister, Jenna and little brother Michael. He was a fiercely protective son, brother, and husband. And most importantly, he was a proud father.

Jonathan’s memory lives on in all who loved him, and through his son Jordan Jensen, who will carry forward his name and legacy, and his son Ezra Krall, who carries his spirit and heart. We will never forget his infectious laugh, sharp humor, and his fierce love for family.

He adored his stepchildren Ames, Aylee, and Loic, as if they were his own. His legacy will live on through them, carrying forward his humor, strength, and love.

Drew is survived by his wife, Samantha Jensen; (2024) his parents, Teresa “Terrie” Moriarty (Melody Huntley) and Jonathan “Tony” Jensen (Ashlee Jensen); his siblings Jenna Jensen, Michael Jensen (Alisha Jensen), and step-siblings Gabbie and Chase; his nieces and nephews Abigail, Aubree, Greyson, and Kane Michael; and his aunts and uncle Diana Johnson, Mary Beska and Jim Holcomb. His memory is also held by countless extended family members and dear friends.

He joins in heaven his grandparents Earl Holcomb, Marcelyn “Jean” Holcomb, and Sigrid Jensen; his great uncle Jack Jensen; his aunts and uncles Bill Johnson, Rhonda Hulings, Gary and Marcy Holcomb, Carol Holcomb, Jerry Beska, and Judith Johnson; his cousin Jaden Holcomb; and his close friend Justin Renound.

Drew was a man who lived boldly, loved fiercely, and protected those close to him with all his heart. To know him was to feel his strength, his humor, and his unwavering loyalty. His passing leaves a space that can never be filled, but his memory will continue to inspire us, guide us, and remind us to live with courage and love.

Jonathan Andrew “Drew” Jensen will be laid to rest with honor among his fellow Marines and service members at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, Washington, on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 1:45pm. A celebration of his life will follow with a BBQ at 2:30pm at the Jensen Memorial Youth Ranch in Medical Lake. All who knew and loved him are welcome to join in remembering the extraordinary man he was.
