I woke up this morning and didn’t remember the significance of this day. I think of him in passing all the time. I had a dream last night where I was telling someone about how it doesn’t hurt anymore. Time just keeps on going, and us with it.

He loved aquarium fish. He must’ve spent so much money making his fish tank. He used to pick me up from school and say “I have a surprise for you in the car!” and to my disappointment, it would usually be a beta fish in a cup, because that was really just a gift to himself.

As many people have already said, he was big on his hobbies, and he was not shy to share them. He always wanted to get me involved in whatever he was doing, whether it was with telescopes, drones, archery, or RC vehicles. Even if he knew I wouldn’t be as into it as he was, he’d buy me something to help me get involved in it. It created a lot of positive memories for me, and I feel as though lots of our bonding came through that.

I can't remember meeting my brother, although he was probably at our father's funeral. He contacted me when I was a bit older and shared pictures of Francesca. He was very sentimental about our family connection after she was born. We did look similar as kids. Over the years he kept in contact, always telling me how proud he was and giving plenty of encouragement. I could tell he cared even though we didn't have much time together in person. 

Francesca, I know this must all suck. I'm sure he was very proud of you and would have cheered you on through school like he did for me. Good luck with college.
