Jon passed away on July 26, 2023 at his home in Deerfield Beach. Jon was 44 years old and was surrounded by his loved ones at the time of passing.

Jon  was born to Rex and Denise in Kansas on the bright and sunny day of July 19, 1979. His favorite hobbies as a child were watching sports, especially football.  After graduating high school, Jon went on to attend the University of Kansas for four years, graduating in 2001. 

After graduation, Jon decided he wanted to travel the world. Jon would go on to visit around 33 countries, including Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Turkey, Greece, Slovenia, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Ireland, Croatia, Bosnia, South Korea, North Korea, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Japan, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Nepal, and India.  During his travels, Jon met and fell in love with Christina, who he later went on to marry in 2012. Christina and Jon continued to travel the world together from 2006 until 2010.

In 2010, Jon and Christina moved to South Florida and settled down, going on to have one child: Sofya (and a crazy dog named Mostar). Jon and Christina stayed together for the rest of Jon’s life – over 17 years of companionship and love.  

Jon's ashes were spread at the Neptune Memorial Reef in Miami in September 2023.  A memorial plaque was placed there as part of the artificial reef, fulfilling his last wish for an eco-friendly burial. It is accessible by taking specialized scuba diving trips.
