Jon's obituary
Jon Patrick Panella, 62, died on March 26, 2026, at his home in Burleson, Texas.
Jon was born June 2, 1963 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to John and Barbara Panella. His family moved to Arlington, TX where he graduated from James Bowie High School in 1981 and later graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1987 with a degree in Mathematics. It was during this period that he met Lynda Conwell Panella while working together at the same company. They married on November 22, 1986. In 1991, the marriage welcomed a daughter, Rachel Panella. Jon and Lynda would share nearly forty years together.
Professionally, Jon would spend forty years in the technology industry. He began his career as a programmer, eventually rising to be Group Vice President at Publicis Sapient. He was widely known as a speaker and leader in the tech community. For those that worked for him, he was a respected manager and executive who was known by colleagues as someone who wanted others to succeed. When Jon was not working, he was an avid sports fan for the Rangers, the Mavericks, and the Stars, but never at the expense of his first love—the Pittsburgh Steelers. But he held that his greatest love was his wife and daughter and time spent with them.
Jon was predeceased by his parents, John and Barbara. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Lynda Panella, daughter Rachel Panella and her husband Jonathan Frembling, his siblings Debbie Brown, Bryan Panella and wife, Erin Hill-Panella, and numerous nieces and nephews.
