Jon's obituary

Jon Charles Nettle (74) passed away on August 24, 2024.

Jon was born April 3, 1950 in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Robert and Betty (Louko) Nettle.

Jon married Rebecca Klinetop on August 1, 1992 in Rochester Hills, Michigan.

Jon enjoyed taking long hikes at night and talking to animals. He also enjoyed fishing and spent many an hour landscaping.  

Jon was a mechanic for over 50 years, including teaching at a vocational school.  He was a teacher/deacon at Hilton Oaks Baptist Church. He was a substitute Sunday School teacher, he loved the mens group and he enjoyed joking around to make people laugh at Roscommon Baptist Church.  He was passionately involved with Narcotics Anonymous and Alcohol Anonymous he treasured the relationships he built there.

Jon will be greatly missed by family and friends.

He is survived by:

  • his beloved wife, Becky, of 32 years;
  • daughter, Heather (Ryan) in Austin, TX;
  • son, Donovan (Katie) in Columbiana, AL;
  • son, Adam (Sou) in Clinton, UT;
  • Son, Joshua in Roscommon, MI;
  • Son, Jacob (Kate) in Roscommon, MI;
  • grandchildren: Alexis, David, Mikenna (Garrett), Kelsey, Miles, Donovan Jr, Makayla, and Austin;
  • as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jon is preceded in death by his parents: Robert and Betty, and his ex-wives Jenny, Robin, and Susie.

Friends and family will gather for a Memorial Service at Roscommon Baptist Church.
