Jon Gardner, 57, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, body was found Thursday, March 12, 2020. Cause of death has been determined to be hypertension along with coronary artery disease. Jon was born to Robert D. Gardner, and Lorna Prince, February 10, 1963 in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Jon graduated from Wayne High School in 1981.

Jon served his country as a ground radio/ electronics in the 122nd tactical fighter wing of the US Air Force Indiana National Guard.
Jon has managed restaurants for 25 years through the years has also worked at Advanced Auto parts, O'Daniel auto parts, Subway, and Jiffy Lube of Fort Wayne.
He has also served as a teacher, mentor and friend to many through his countless hours serving various spiritual groups, churches, and other organizations.
Jon was trained in music from the age of 3 and was skilled not only vocally but also played the organ and piano among other instruments. He blessed many with his beautiful arrangements during and after church services and on Wednesday could frequently be found playing the Steinway in the basement of Walb Student Union building on the Purdue Fort Wayne campus.
Jon could always be counted on to listen and offer advise to those in need. He many times would forgo sleep to reach out and talk to someone who was having a very hard time no matter if they were an old friend or new acquaintance.
Jon was a master at using humor to not only lighten the mood but also break the ice and make people comfortable. He was a light and drew people to him.
Jon is survived by his two daughters and 10 grandchildren.
