Jon's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jon Engen, who passed away on May 17, 2024. Jon was born on February 5, 1964 in Oceanside, CA and lived a life filled with joy, humor, and love.
Jon will be remembered for his positive outlook and his contagious laughter. He never hesitated to share his philosophy of life, encouraging others to never take life too seriously, to have fun, and to ride the wave. His legacy of kindness and laughter will forever touch the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
An avid surfer and baseball player, Jon found joy in the simplicity of life, teaching us all to cherish the small moments and to always seek out fun and adventure. He also could throw some of the best pottery around. He kept people rolling in laughter because he could find humor in the most mundane life circumstances.
He leaves behind his loving partner, Mary Shulte, and two beloved children, Ashley Sibri, Shane Engen, and Grandchildren Andres, Isaac, and Kyrah. Siblings Judy Quill, Dale Engen, Barbara Greene, Karen Sullivan, Patti Delano and Brenda Owing. They, along with countless friends and family members, will continue to honor Jon's spirit by living their lives with the same positivity and love that Jon shared with the world.
Jon is preceded in death by June Engen (Mother), Kenneth Engen (Father), Dianne Krautter (Sister), and Neal Engen (Son).
