Joi, what a fitting name for such a sweet lady who brought joy whenever she entered a room.

I met Joi when I began working with Evergreen Chamber of Commerce, Joi was an ambassador for GSS Electric. She was an amazing ambassador, always reaching out asking how she could help. Joi received the Chamber's President's Award. This unique award was given to a person who is a positive influence on the Evergreen community, someone who works behind the scenes and does not seek recognition. That was Joi.

Our friendship went beyond the Chamber of Commerce, we often met for tea and discussed our lives outside of the Chamber. She was excited to begin writing her book of women in the bible.

I will truly miss this very special woman and her hugs.

Well l didn’t know Joi well, but l lived across the street she always had a smile and a wave when she saw me and know matter how tall the grass was she would get behind that push mower and mow until it was done.

I was devastated when I heard the news of Joi's passing.  So sorry to hear this.  Geof and I are friends through order of man and I know he and Joi worked together to improve themselves constantly.  I only got to meet Joi once in a zoom call.  It was so much fun and she was totally engaged in our conversation.  Whenever I spoke to Geof he always mentioned Joi.  Knowing the man Geof is I know Joi was also equally amazing and a loving woman. May her memory be eternal.  

Joi was one of our first ambassadors to the newly formed evergreen chamber of commerce.   She was a special lady.  She will be missed.  Saying prayers for her family.   🙏 .  I was the founding director of evcc, now Retired.  We stayed in touch. 

For over 50 years, she was a part of our family, and her life spoke so clearly of her faith. She put Christ first, loved unselfishly, and had a heart of gold. She was the kind of person who didn’t just do what was needed—she always went above and beyond for others. Although I wasn’t closely connected with her day to day, I always felt that she was someone I could approach when I ever needed to. That quiet kindness says so much about who she was. Joi would always leave the ninety-nine for the one that needed her. She will be remembered for her faith, her generosity, and the love she showed so freely.  What a legacy she leaves. 

Hello, I’m so sorry and very saddened hearing of Joi leaving us. Feels too soon and too quickly. Been lifting all of you up. I remember Joi’s kindness and her joy whenever I was with her in Canton in high school.  Sending love & prayer, Nancy Miller (Fallin).

In 2004 I found myself in Jail, addicted and lost. The jailer had come to our cell to see if anyone wanted a pastoral visit and I said, yes! When I went to the visiting room there was this stranger with the biggest smile on her face. It was Joi...she talked to me about God and how no matter what I've done in my life that if I invited Jesus into my life I would be forgiven and I would come to know the greatest love in my life. I wasn't sure if I believed her. But Joi came to see me every Tuesday night for almost a year. I became a believer and I made one of the greatest friends of my life. I had a young son who was troubled and Jeff and Joi took him in and he ended up giving his life to christ. Joi always had a smile on her face and a place in her life for the broken. She was a true gift in my life. I will miss her more than words can say. I find comfort in knowing where she is and that I will see her again. Thank you Joi for being such a good friend and such a loyal servant. You are loved.....
