Johnson “John” Maurelle Carner, 70, died peacefully on the April 4, 2026. John was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on August 8, 1955. He lived in Belle Glade, Florida in his younger years before moving to Clewiston, Florida.

John is preceded by his parents, James and Barbara Carner; brother, Jimmy Carner (Glenda) and brother, David Carner (Bandra).

He is survived by his wife, Wanda Carner; son, Jon Paul Carner (Courtney), son, Carl Carner (Cyndi), daughter, Nicole Pena (Carlos), sister, Dorcus Carner and brother, Russell Carner. Six grandchildren: Zachary Hunter (Denise), Brianna Amaros (Cecelia), Reygan Carner, Ryan Carner, Ayanna Luevano and Brooklyn Carner. Two great-grandchildren: Dahlia Amaros and Claire Doctor.

John was a truck mechanic for many years in the sugar industry. He enjoyed diving, fishing and grilling steaks.

A memorial service will be held at the Clewiston Inn on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 11:00am.
