Background
Johnny's death was a shock to those of us closest to him. He and I were unprepared to have safeguards in place to help me financially in the event of his death. ie. Life Insurance etc.
In the space of one year I lost everything; my partner of more than 20 years, 3 of my beloved pet cats, my place to live, and finally diagnosed with terminal stage 4 metastatic Ovarian cancer. It's been a long year since his passing. I've been through chemotherapy, lost all my hair, and am still experiencing peripheral neuropathy in my feet and hands awaiting a decision by my surgeon at Stanford whether or not he will perform surgery now that my tumor has shrunk and my cancer numbers are within range for this kind of surgery. I receive a small fixed amount from SSI each month and have been fortunate to be able to stay with relatives however it's time to rent my own place again. I'm faced with the red tape and years long wait-list, if one can even get on it, for low income housing in my hometown where the cost of rent has skyrocketed beyond comprehension.
I've always been a fiercely independent person working for more than 30+ years in the local hospitality industry but counted on Johnny's income and now find myself unable to work.
It's a very humbling thing for me to reach out and ask for funding for living & medical expenses. I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I'd be in this position of trying to start over at 60 years old with cancer.
Any donation is appreciated. I'm just grateful to be alive and defied the odds of a 2 week diagnosis to live.
Many thanks and with Kind Regards,
