Really sad to hear the news of Johnny's passing even if it's over a year delayed I still wanted to give my condolences to the Joe Family.
Growing up as next door neighbors way back in the 80's we were always very close with Johnny, Lindy, Jeremy, Becky and Travis and some of their close friends.
Our families went on many fun trips together. Camping at Big Bear, Houseboating on Lake Shasta or celebrating the 4th of July with Fireworks we always had fun spending time with the Joe family. I remember one 4th of July Johnny put everyone's fireworks on his south wall as a fun extravagant tour de force with a blow torch he lit them all up in one fell swoop all down the wall! It was so memorable and so spectacular I will always remember how magnificent it was and how fast it all went up but it was well worth the cost of those fireworks. We were all kind of speechless after the big show!
I remember him taking us kids in his Land Cruiser in the desert and I particularly remember going over big bumpy hills at night where you would be bouncing around in the back of his blue jeep. As a kid it was so fun going offroading and one of the best memories I had growing up. Johnny always made sure everyone had a good time and it was evident in these fun adventures we would go on with all of our families.
So many great memories spent with Johnny and the Joe family. Johnny always made you feel cared for even if it was in a fun humorous sometimes sarcastic way after you've done something stupid like fall backwards after climbing on his wall lol. He was a truly great person and will be forever missed. I'm super lucky having known him as my neighbor growing up. I know he's rooting for his Cowboy's in heaven alongside Lindy who was also an amazing person and close friend of my mother Eileen's. Johnny and Lindy will both share a truly special place in my heart. My condolences to the Joe Family. I'm so sorry for your loss. And sorry for the long overdue condolences.

Johnny, your presence will be forever missed. Everyone loved you for your kind heart and don’t give a damn attitude. I’m so glad we reconnected and both you and Lindy were reintroduced to my kids. I loved having a big brother in Texas as no one was going to mess with Johnny’s little sister. Now I like to think you’re on your Harley with Lindy enjoying the open road with the wind blowing in your hair. Rest in peace. Love you always. Your sis.

Johnny meant more to me than I can express. He naturally drew people to him. Working side by side with him for the city since 1986 until his retirement or sitting (or tinkering with our Harleys) in his garage were special parts of my life. His children and grandchildren lost a special person as did his many friends. I watched his kids grow up and have children of their own and he loved them all. To all the Joe family please accept my heartfelt condolences 💐.
