Johnnie's obituary

Johnnie Luna, Sr. was born to Mike Luna, Sr. and Matilda Segura Luna on May 15, 1958 in Galveston, Texas.
Affectionately known as ‘Big Dog’ and ‘Fat Dog,’ Johnnie was employed as a concrete laborer & operator and worked for Vernon Materials for the past few years. He was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Angleton, TX. He loved fishing, cooking, spending time with family & friends as well as sports. He had a special love for the Tennessee Titans as you often saw him around town sporting his favorite Titan blue hat, Tennessee jersey and bragging about the very special day he met and had the opportunity to take a picture with Titans owner, K.S. “Bud” Adams.
Johnnie married Yolonda Josey on April 12, 2008.The two shared 12 years of marriage and the ‘glows and grows’ of blended and extended family until separated by death.
On Thursday June 24th, 2021 Johnnie transitioned to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his: parents, Mike and Matilda Luna; brother, Manuel Luna and sister, Nora Luna Willis.
He leaves to celebrate his life and legacy to his:

Holt (Larry) of Houston, TX, Kenneth Branch of Angleton, TX, John Branch (Megan) of Lake Jackson, TX, Henry Josey (Bianca) of Iowa Colony, TX, and Diyrell Josey (Emily) of Rosharon, TX.
Siblings: Mary Esther Wiggins of Houston, TX, Mike Luna, Jr. (Virginia) of Angleton, TX, Lydia Harris of Lake Jackson, TX, Doris James of Austin, TX, and David Luna, Sr. (LaJuan) of Lake Jackson, TX.
Father-in-law and Mother-in-law: Thomas J. Josey, Sr. and Eula M. Josey of Angleton, TX.
Siblings-in-law: Thomas J. Josey, Jr. and Michelle Josey of Angleton, TX and Rodney and Senecia Saveat of Beaumont, TX.
31 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and well-wishers.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday July 6th, 2021 at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton, Texas. Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday ,July 7th, 2021 at the Christian Tabernacle in Angleton, Texas. Burial will follow at Angleton Cemetery.
For the safety of all attending, mask and are required and social distancing is encouraged.
